Arash is a driven MSc student in Computer Science, currently pursuing his research in the BOTS group at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Under the joint supervision of Dr. Andrew Vardy and Dr. Andrew Staniland from the School of Music, his focus lies in generative AI for improvised music production using swarm robots. Before joining MUN, Arash gained valuable industry experience as a software engineer and robotic engineer in the Czech Republic, working with esteemed institutions like Czech Technical University and GoodAI. His work involved hands-on applications of AI and robotics, including drone technology.
Armed with a Master’s in mechanical engineering from Middle East Technical University, Arash’s expertise spans swarm robotics, where he contributed to researching aggregation behavior and developed a python-based kinematic simulation for rapid prototyping of swarm ideas. His educational journey started at the University of Tabriz, Iran, where he earned his BSc degree and honed his skills in designing a practical platform for mult-robot systems, providing researchers with an efficient implementation tool.
In his free time, he indulges in hobbies like tennis, boxing, and theater, while also dedicating time to volunteer work at animal shelters.
